2.2.2 Low-Voltage Side Capacitor

The low-voltage side capacitor need to filter out the AC ripple component during the buck-mode of operation. The value of capacitance can be calculated with Equation 11

where,

  • iout(pk-pk) is the peak-to-peak output current ripple
  • fsw is the switching frequency of the converter
  • Vout(pk-pk) is the peak-to-peak output voltage ripple
