AFE5809: The AFE5809 is a highly integrated Analog Front-End (AFE) solution specifically designed for ultrasonic systems in which high performance and small size are required. The AFE5809 integrates a complete time-gain-control (TGC) imaging path and a continuous wave Doppler (CWD) path. It also enables users to select one of various power/noise combinations to optimize system performance. AFE5809 also includes a digital in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) demodulator and a low-pass decimation filter. The main purpose of the demodulation block is to reduce the LVDS data rate and improve overall system power efficiency. |

VCA5807: The VCA5807 is an integrated Voltage Controlled Amplifier (VCA) specifically designed for ultrasonic systems in which high performance and small size are required. The VCA5807 integrates a complete time-gain-control (TGC) imaging path and a continuous wave Doppler (CWD) path. It also enables users to select one of various power/noise combinations to optimize system performance. Pair it with one of TI's discrete, high speed, high channel count ADC's such as the ADS5295 for a complete front end solution. |

VCA2615: The VCA2615 is a dual-channel, variable gain amplifier consisting of a Low-Noise Preamplifier (LNP) and a Variable-Gain Amplifier (VGA). The LNP gain can be programmed to one of four settings (3dB, 12dB, 18dB, 22dB), while maintaining excellent noise and signal handling characteristics. The input impedance of the LNP can be controlled by selecting one of the built-in feedback resistors. This active termination allows the user to closely match the LNP to a given source impedance, resulting in optimized overall system noise performance. |

ADS5295: The ADS5295 is a low-power, 12-bit, 100-MSPS, 8-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Low power consumption and integration of multiple channels in a compact package make the device attractive for very high channel count data acquisition systems. Several digital functions that are commonly used in systems are included in the device. These functions include a low-frequency suppression mode, digital filtering options, and programmable mapping. |

DLP045: DLP® technology provides developers with a reliable technology for integrating light control into a multitude of real-time, optical solutions. This chipset includes the 0.45 WXGA DMD (DLP4500) and the DLP4500 Digital Controller (DLPC350). It enables high brightness light engines for wide aspect ratio pattern or video display. The high brightness capability is well suited for brightly lit settings such as a hospital or doctor's office and the high resolution is good for large object scans and object identification. Possible non-invasive medical applications include optical 3D scans, intelligent lighting to enable targeted skin treatments or precision surgical lighting, and wavelength analysis of fluid and tissue. |

Ultrasonic refers to more than just medical Ultrasound. It refers to any application that uses high frequency sound pulses or electromagnetic waves to measure distance, velocity, or material characteristics. One such application is SONAR which uses sound waves to measure or detect objects on or under the surface of a body of water. Click here to learn more about how SONAR applications work and the TI products that enable this market. |
