[MUSIC PLAYING]

PurePath Console 3 is TI's latest GUI for audio amplifier configuration and tuning. This video provides a basic walkthrough of the software and its features. The Home page is the app center, where designers can download and access software apps for various devices. Signing into your TI account will display the apps available to you. Visit the PurePath Console page on TI.com to request access to PPC3 and device apps.

Getting started is as simple as connecting an EVM and opening it's device app. Choose a speaker configuration, and select the audio input source through the GUI or directly on the board for some devices. Running system checks will make sure the EVM is connected and functioning properly. The tuning and audio processing module displays the available process flows for the device. If you have difficulty at any time, click the orange Help button and hover over highlighted sections to learn more.

In this view, we have access to the [? DSP ?] with visualized controls, for example, dynamic range control, automatic gain limiting, the equalizer, as well as other standard audio processing features. During your tuning process, you can create snapshots to quickly compare different audio configurations.

The device apps have other useful modules, like Register Map, to modify the control registers, and Direct I2C, a terminal to communicate through the USB interface on the EVM. The End System Integration module allows designers to debug or finalize tuning using their end system hardware and export a configuration file.

If you have a smart enabled device, you can use the Learning Board to characterize speakers for more functionality in the device app. The wizard provides simple instructions to go through the process and save a characterization file. In the Smart Amp Device app, after a process flow is selected, you can import the characterization file to utilize more features, like SmartEQ, to automatically flatten the speaker response according to the [? STL ?] response, as well as [? Smart ?] [? Base ?] to extend the low frequency response and implement excursion control.

PurePath Console 3 makes speaker tuning and characterization easier than ever. Request it today by visiting TI.com.
