IO-Link can be considered as standard communication for transmitters and sensors on the factory floor. Field transmitters and sensors are commonly used in extreme environments with high pressure, temperature and more. Furthermore, they face additional electrical voltage differences in GROUND levels leading to ground loops and unwanted noise injection. By isolating circuit blocks electrically from each other these ground loops will be broken.
