The DRV632EVM customer evaluation module (EVM) demonstrates the capabilities and operation of the DRV632 integrated circuit from Texas Instruments.
The DRV632 is a 2Vrms, stereo line driver aimed at replacing line driver circuits created with an op amp and passives. These solutions have poor click and pop performance and large board area. The DirectPathTM technology removes the requirement for DC blocking cap providing much better bass response to consumer electronic devices connected to the line driver output.
Designed using TI's patented DirectPath™ technology, the DRV632 is able to drive 2Vrms into 600Ω with a 3.3-V supply voltage. The device has differential inputs and uses external gain-setting resistors that support four gain settings with external resistors. The line outputs that have +/-8 kV IEC electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. The DRV632 also has built-in Active Mute and PowerSense Under Voltage Protection (UVP) for pop-free power cycling.
The DRV632 is available in a 14-pin TSSOP package.
This EVM is configured two RCA phono input connectors for analog input and with the output signals available on two RCA phono connectors. The power supply is connected via a two-pin, 2,54-mm header. This evaluation board is designed for testing applications such as set-top boxes, LCD/PDP TVs, Blu-ray Disc and DVD players, home theater-in-a-box (HTIB) systems, or soundcards.
