Overview

The V-MD3 is a high-end 3D radar transceiver that features integrated signal processing and tracking algorithms. It can accurately measure the speed, direction, distance and angle (both azimuth and elevation) of both moving and stationary objects. Its digital architecture and broad power supply range ensure ease of use in both standalone and MCU-based applications.

This sensor is equipped with an IWR6843 RF front end and an FPGA, providing an Ethernet connection within a rugged IP-65 housing with M12 connectors. The radar front end features 3 transmit (TX) and 4 receive (RX) patch antennas, paired with a robust FPGA signal processing chain. It includes an Ethernet connection for data readout and sensor configuration, along with two configurable digital outputs for applications such as area surveillance or collision avoidance systems. The sensor allows data readout from various processing stages, providing maximum flexibility for seamless integration into diverse customer environments.
