TIDA-00382
Smart card interface reference design
TIDA-00382
Overview
The TIDA-00382 TCA5013 reference design solves EPOS smart card subsystem; allows customers pass EMV test much easier. The TCA5013 reference design is built with one user card slot which allows the TCA5013 to detect the insertion and removal of the user card. The user card, also known as an IC card, contains the account information for the consumer using of an electronic point of sale (EPOS). The TCA5013 design is also built with three Secure Access Module (SAM) card cages. A SAM card physically resembles a Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) but contains information relevant to an EPOS transaction.
Features
- Designed to comply ISO7816-3, ISO7816-10 and EMV 4.3 requirements (timing, ESD, security)
- Automatic ATR retrieval from ISO7816-10 type-1 card to reduce Software development
- 1 user card + 3 SAM
- 8kV IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection on all card side pins
- Built and tested circuit design
A fully assembled board has been developed for testing and performance validation only, and is not available for sale.
