Ultra-Low Profile Backlight Driver Reference Design

TIDA-00878

Design files

Overview

This reference design shows a step-by-step procedure for designing a white LED backlight driver.  The focus is on choosing components for an ultra-low profile with a total circuit height of less than 0.7 mm.  Data is shown for efficiency, transient operation and limits on operating conditions.

Features
  • 2.8-V to 5-V operating input voltage range
  • Supports displays up to 2P8S (16 LEDs)
  • Noise-free PWM dimming control
  • Total circuit height < 0.7-mm max
  • < 16-mm square footprint
