TIPD117
Dual-channel data acquisition reference design for optical encoders, 12 bits, 1 MSPS
TIPD117
Overview
This TI Precision Verified Design provides the theory, component selection, simulation, PCB design, and measurement details for a 12-bit 1-MSPS single supply dual channel simultaneous data acquisition system. This circuit achieves 73 dB SINAD for a 4.5 V differential signal at 2 KHz input frequency. Differential input may have a wide range of common mode voltage. Circuit includes a low impedence buffer, low pass RC filter and 12 bit, Dual, Simultaneous Sampling SAR ADC with internal reference voltage source.
Features
- 12-Bit, 2-Channel, Simultaneous Data Acquisition at 1-MSPS Throughput
- 72dB SNR, 85dB THD, 71.5dB SINAD AC Performance
- ±4.5 V Differential Input Voltage Signal
- Alternate component choices with measured results shown for 16-bit and 14-bit performance upgrade
A fully assembled board has been developed for testing and performance validation only, and is not available for sale.
