The TPA3223EVM HD-Audio evaluation module demonstrates the TPA3223 pad-up integrated circuit from Texas Instruments. The TPA3223 is a high-power Class-D amplifier that enables efficient operation at full-power, idle and standby. The device features closed-loop feedback which provides low distortion across the audio band and delivers excellent sound quality. The device integrates essential protection features including undervoltage, overvoltage, cycle-by-cycle current limit, short circuit, clipping detection, and overtemperature warning and shutdown. The device operates with either AD modulation or low idle-current high-efficient AD (HEAD) modulation, and can drive up to 2 x 200 W into 4-Ω load or 1 x 400 W into 2-Ω load. The TPA3223EVM features adjustable gain settings from 20-36dB, and allows for flexible input signals with 1-2Vrms single-ended/differential analog input interface. The EVM supports 2 x BTL (stereo) output channel or 1 x PBTL (mono) output channel configurations. The TPA3223EVM is a complete reference design for the TPA3223, ready for evaluation and excellent listening.
