Overview

The Texas Instruments TPS60230EVM-047 evaluation module (EVM) helps designers evaluate the operation and performance of the TPS60230. The TPS60230 is an efficient charge-pump-based current sink that can drive up to five white LEDs with 25mA each.

The EVM is specifically designed and optimized to operate with a single-cell Li-Ion battery input. The default maximum current setting for this EVM is 20mA per LED. If desired, the EVM can easily be modified to supply higher or lower currents by appropriately selecting the ISET resistor, R1. Refer to the datasheet (SLVS516) for more information on adjusting the LED current.

The EVM development tool includes a tested evalutation module (HPA047); a user guide (SBVU008) that contains the schematic, bill of material, components placement, layout and the setup of the EVM; and the TPS60230 data sheet.

The only necessity to use the EVM is a power source, either a DC source or a battery pack with a voltage of 2.7 to 6.0V.

Features
  • Input voltage: 2.7V to 6.0V
  • 5 on-board white LEDs
  • Output current: 20mA per LED
  • On-board jumpers for EN1 and EN2 control (brightness control)
