Overview

The TPS92200D2EVM evaluation module (EVM) helps designers evaluate the operation and performance of the TPS92200D2 synchronous buck switching regulator designed for high-current LED driver applications. The TPS92200D2 is a 1.5-A synchronous buck LED driver and features a wide input voltage range (4 V to 30 V), it supports analog mode dimming (1% to 100%) with PWM mode dimming (20 kHz to 200 kHz).  For safety, kinds of protection are implemented, include LED open/short protection, sense resistor open/short protection, and device thermal protection. To protect LED from over current damage, the driver will enter Hiccup protection mode once over current detected.

Features
  • Two 150-mΩ/90-mΩ MOSFETs for 1.5-A continuous output current
  • 100-mV internal voltage reference in analog dimming mode
  • Precision analog dimming by analog and PWM input as low as 1%
  • LED open/short protection
  • Sense resistor open/short protection
