Overview

The TPSM86838 evaluation module (EVM) is a high-efficiency, high-voltage input, easy-to-use synchronous buck power module. It integrates power MOSFETs, a shielded inductor and basic passives, minimizing the solution size. With the wide operating input voltage range of 4.5 V to 28 V, the TPSM86838 is designed for systems powered from 12 V, 19 V and 24 V power-bus rails. The output voltage range is between 0.6 V and 5.5 V. The TPSM86838 device provides 800 kHz and 1.2 MHz switching frequencies for selection. The device supports up to 8 A continuous output current. D-CAP3 control mode provides an easy-to-design and stable regulation with very few external components.
