This power overview focuses on applying control to power converter circuits, including the principle of negative feedback, and recognizing several benefits to feedback. The presenter introduces high-level overviews of three popular power supply control methods – Hysteretic, Voltage Mode Control, and Current Mode Control. Each control technique’s advantages and disadvantages are listed, as well as comparisons between the three methods.
