[MUSIC PLAYING]

Hi, my name Kenneth Sy Su, and I'm an Applications Engineer with our Industrial Millimeter Wave Sensor Group from Texas Instruments. I'm excited to show you an example of how TI's Millimeter Wave Sensors can measure both the range and speed of an object with high accuracy. In this demonstration, we'll show these capabilities via a drone application, specifically, how far above the ground it is, and how rapidly it approaches it for landing.

We have our drone with an attached Millimeter Wave EVM pointed at the ground. The EVM is measuring the distance from itself to the platform base. When I move the drone, notice how we can measure, with centimeter accuracy, the distance from the drone lugs to the ground. Also notice, we can detect the velocity at which the drone is approaching the ground.

Other applications we see this capability being used in are fluid level measurements in industrial tanks, and distance and speed measurements for elevator cars. For more information, please visit us at the link below. Thanks for watching.
