The purpose of this topic is take a look at general purpose PWM controllers and the power supply topologies that they can be used in.

We will also show examples of typical applications and how a general purpose controller compares against a dedicated controllers with the advantages and disadvantages of each. The TI part numbers referred to during the presentation are listed here for reference as are the TI reference designs.

General purpose PWM controllers can be used in Automotive, Industrial, Telecoms and consumer appliances.
