Hello, and welcome to the MSP432 Sensor-to-Cloud demo experience. This demo uses the MSP432E4 host MCU paired with a CC1310 network processor as a 15.4 gateway. Connected to the gateway are CC1310 LaunchPads acting as 15.4 nodes, with sensors, LEDs, and fans.

Through the integrated ethernet controller on the MSP432E4, the gateway is connected to the cloud and allows for online monitoring and control of the nodes. Let's take a closer look at this demo's capabilities. Here we have an MSP432E4 connected to the cloud through ethernet.

Next to it we have two CC1310 LaunchPads, one of which is acting as a temperature sensor node and the other as a fan control node. From the cloud interface hosted on IBM Cloud, you can monitor and control all the connected sensors. As you can see, the cloud interface refreshes constantly to display the most up-to-date data from each node.

Some commands possible through the web interface include setting the target temperature of the system, changing the fan speed, and controlling the LEDs. The MSP432E4 in this demo acts as an intelligent gateway where the fan control decision making performs locally based on the set target temperature. The core functionality of the demo is provided by the new SimpleLink SDK TI 15.4 plug-in.

This plug-in for the SDK provides the APIs and abstraction layers that allows for easy integration of the CC13x6 Sub-1 gigahertz devices and the TI 802.15.4 stack with the SimpleLink family of host MCUs, including the CC13220 and the MSP432 devices.
