How to configure the AFE74xx EVM in transceiver mode
Resources
In this video, I'll show you how to operate the AFE74xx EVM in transceiver mode when both the ADC and the DAC are actively capturing and transmitting a tone at the same time. Visit ti.com/afe74xx to learn more. Let's get started.
The first step is to verify that the DAC and the ADC are fully programmed and functional. Do this by bringing up the AFE74xx EVM in a desired mode. If you haven't done so already, please watch the previous video where I show you how to bring up the AFE74xx EVM ADC and the DAC. After verifying that both ADCs and DACs are functioning properly, continue watching this video.
Once you have verified ADC and DAC functionality independently, navigate to the HSDC pro ADC tab and press Capture. Once you have a clean capture, change the INI file to the XCVR version of the mode you are using. If you're using mode 4, select mode 4 XCVR. This stands for transceiver mode. Once you've selected this INI file, press Capture again and verify that your tone is still there.
Now navigate to the DAC tab and press send. Navigate back to the AFE74xx GUI, and click on the Advanced panel. Locate the buttons titled DAC. Click on the top button and then the bottom button. At this point, you should see the DAC transmitting on the output.
Now navigate back to the ADC tab of HSDC pro, and click Capture. You should now see that when you press Capture, the DAC does not stop transmitting a tone.
