In this lecture, we will learn:
- Gate drive circuits have several loops that must be low inductance.
- A “Kelvin connection” is often found on switching devices and allows gate drivers to bypass voltage drops in the high-current source path.
- Gate resistors are often wanted for final damping, but are no substitute for good layout.
