Three new power management chips increase efficiency, voltage and output current in LED designs

Bangalore , Jan. 29, 2009 - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE:TXN) introduced today a high-power DC/DC boost LED driver (TPS61500) and high-voltage DC/DC boost converter (TPS61175), and expanded its step-down DC/DC converter series with TPS62110. These devices can support input voltages of up to 18 V and feature smaller voltage references for improved LED circuit design.  These energy-efficient devices are cross-functional and work across a variety of LED applications, including signage, ambient light, office light, general illumination, military, medical and sensors.
