6.5 Current Sensing and Regulation

The DRV8962-Q1 integrates current sensing across the high-side MOSFETs, current regulation, and current sense feedback. These features allow the device to sense the load current when the load is connected between output nodes and ground, without connecting an external sense resistor or sense circuitry; reducing system size, cost, and complexity. The current sense proportional outputs (IPROPI) allow the device to give detailed feedback to the controller about the load current.
