In half-bridge configuration, a floating supply is necessary for the high-side device. To obtain the best performance of LMG3522R030-Q1, TI highly recommends Using an Isolated Power Supply. A bootstrap supply can be used with the recommendations of this section.
In applications like a boost converter, the low side LMG3522R030-Q1 always start switching while high side LMG3522R030-Q1 is unpowered. If the low side is adjusted to achieve very high slew rate before the high side bias is fully settled, there can be unintentional turn-on at the high side due to parasitic coupling at high slew rate. The start-up slew rate must be slowed down to 100 V/ns by changing the resistance of RDRV pin of the low side. This slow down can be achieved by controlling the low side RDRV resistance with the high side FAULT as given in Figure 8-1.
