8.3.12 SHA-256-HMAC Authentication Block

The authentication block on the TMP1827 device uses a keyed-hash message authentication code (HMAC) which is FIPS PUB-198-1 compliant SHA-256 hash implementation. The SHA-256 implementation is FIPS PUB-180-4 compliant. The HMAC engine does not encrypt the data, but generates a 256-bit hash based on the user programmed keys.
