Detailed Design Procedure

Figure 9-1 shows an application that demonstrates how the TMUX620x can be used to select the gain of a TIA amplifier. Here RF is used to prevent any open loop configuration. For the lowest error, the RON of the switch should be much smaller than RF_S, as this will scale linearly with the potential error.

The TMUX620x can support 1.8V logic signals on the control input, allowing the device to interface with low logic controls of an FPGA or MCU. The TMUX620x can operate without any external components except for the supply decoupling capacitors. The select pin has an internal Pull-Down resistor to prevent floating input logic. All inputs to the switch must fall within the recommend operating conditions of the TMUX620x including signal range and continuous current. For this design with a positive supply of 15V on VDD and negative supply of -15V on VSS, the signal range can be 15V to -15V. The maximum continuous current (IDC) can be up to 330mA (for wide-range current measurement, see the Section 6.4 section).
