7.4.3 Low-Voltage Dropout Operation

When the device drives an LED string in low-dropout operation, if the V(DROPOUT) is less than the open-circuit detection threshold, the device can report a false open-circuit fault. TI recommends only enabling the open-circuit detection when the voltage across the IN and OUTx is higher than the maximum voltage of LED open rising threshold to avoid a false open-circuit detection.
