8.4.9 One-Shot Operation

The ADS1283 can perform very power-efficient, one-shot conversions using the STANDBY command while under software control. Figure 55 shows this sequence. First, issue the STANDBY command to set the standby mode.

When ready to make a measurement, issue the WAKEUP command. When DRDY goes low, the fully-settled conversion data are ready and can be read directly in read-data-continuous mode. Afterwards, issue another STANDBY command. When ready for the next measurement, repeat the cycle starting with another WAKEUP command.
