Diode Selection

The LMG3522R030 offers no reverse-recovery charge and very limited output charge. Hard-switching circuits using the LMG3522R030 also exhibit high voltage slew rates. A compatible bootstrap diode must not introduce high output charge and reverse-recovery charge.

A silicon carbide diode, like the GB01SLT06-214, can be used to avoid reverse-recovery effects. The SiC diode has an output charge of 3 nC. Althought there is additional loss from its output charge, it does not dominate the losses of the switching stage.
