8.2.1.2.3 Implementing Dimming

The TPS61500 provides two LED current dimming methods.

  • Floating the DIMC pin, an external PWM signal via the EN pin, providing pure PWM dimming method.
  • Connecting a capacitor larger than 100-nF to the DIMC pin, an external PWM signal via the EN pin, providing analog dimming. In this application, a 1-µF capacitor is connected to the DIMC pin.
