8.5.2.10 Setting Switch Current Limit

As shown in Equation 13, the switch current limit is determined by the switch current sense resistor, RIS, and the switch current threshold. For VILIM(THR) = 100 mV and IL(PK) = 6 A, RIS ≤ 16 mΩ. A standard sense resistor of RIS = 10 mΩ is selected for this application.

The maximum power loss introduced by RIS can be found from Equation 60, to be 0.45 W.
