21.1.1 Purpose of the Peripheral

The I2C peripheral provides bidirectional data transfer through a two-wire serial bus consisting of a data (SDA) and clock (SCL) line. The I2C bus is widely used to interface with devices such as battery management ICs, sensors, other MCUs and so on. This I2C peripheral provides the ability to both transmit to and receive from other I2C devices on the bus.
