4.6.1 Surge Test Setup

  • DUT and LP need to be on an insulating surface, 10cm above earth ground
  • DUT and LP need to be at least 10cm apart
  • Verify the Ethernet cable is placed on top of the insulator
  • Verify sure the surge injection point is properly connected to the shield
  • Verify there are no discontinuities on the cable shield
