Output Current

When selecting the inductor value for the inverting buck boost topology, you must select a large enough inductor to keep ILmax lower than the minimum current limit value (4.2 A) of the device for a reliable design. From Output Current Range Versus Inductor L and Equation 5 for this example, you can see that an at least 4-µH inductor is needed for a 1.2-A output application.
