Design Requirements

The target full-load efficiency is 91% based on a nominal input voltage of 24 V and an output voltage of 3.3 V. The required input voltage range is 3 V to 65 V. The LM5165Y-Q1 is chosen to deliver a fixed 3.3-V output voltage. The switching frequency is set by resistor RRT at approximately 160 kHz. The output voltage soft-start time is 4 ms. The required components are listed in Table 8-4. The component selection procedure for this COT design is quite similar to that of Design 1, see Figure 8-1.
