3.2 Star Handshake Mechanism

A handshake sequence very similar to what is described in Section 3.1 can be applied for the star topology case. In this implementation the host, or lead, device sends broadcast pings to all of the node devices and they each respond along their independent TX paths. The lead device waits to receive ping frames from all nodes before moving on to the next step.

The sequence is shown in Figure 3-2.
