The Texas Instruments TPS60231EVM-047 evaluation module (EVM) helps designers evaluate the operation and performance of the TPS60231. The TPS60231 is an efficient charge-pump-based current sink that can drive up to three white LEDs with 25mA each.
The EVM is specifically designed and optimized to operate with a single-cell Li-Ion battery input. The default maximum current setting for this EVM is 20mA per LED. If desired, the EVM can easily be modified to supply higher or lower currents by appropriately selecting the ISET resistor, R1. Refer to the datasheet (SLVS544) for more information on adjusting the LED current.
The EVM development tool includes a tested evaluation module (HPA047); a user guide (SBVU009) that contains the schematic, bill of material, components placement, layout and the setup of the EVM; and the TPS60231 data sheet.
The only necessity to use the EVM is a power source, either a DC source or a battery pack with a voltage of 2.7 to 6.0V.
