The Android Development Kit from TI is a complete software offering to allow DM37x developers the ability to easily and quickly evaluate the Android OS. The kit provides a stable and fully tested software foundation that can be utilized on DM37x hardware including Evaluation Modules and Beagleboard (beagleboard.org).

With the inclusion of Open GL support, users will be able to accelerate the graphics functions included in Android for a smooth and robust user experience. The Android Development Kit for DM37x devices is provided free of charge with no development or production restrictions. Developers who would like to experiment with the latest Android code for DM37x platform can also visit the open source community at arowboat.org. There, users can download the latest code as well as interact with other developers and users of the Android operating system.

This release package provides a Andorid GingerBread 2.3 DevKit(EA) distribution with integrated SGX (3D graphics) drivers, Adobe Flash 10 support, TI hardware abstraction for video overlay, WLAN, Bluetooth support for WL1271, PowerManagement, S-Video, Camera on Beagle XM, RowboPERF performance measurement application, NAND (UBIFS), Fastboot and standard applications from Android.

This release supports MPEG4 ASP and H.264 MP/HP 720P DSP accelerated decoding on DM3730.

The package also includes TI Android GingerBread Source, Linux Android kernel, Toolchain, Debug and Development Tools(CCSv5, ADT, Flashing Utility, etc) and Documentation to ease development, deployment and execution of Android based systems. The product forms the basis for all Android application development on OMAP35x, AM37x, AM35x platforms.
