In the context of connected devices, vulnerability in one device can compromise the entire network. There are multiple levels of security required between a wireless protocol, hardware and software to ensure system integrity. Features such as secure boot and anti-rollback verify whether the proper software is running on the device and can prevent the use of older, more vulnerable versions of firmware. For additional security, the isolation of software and even hardware from features such Arm® TrustZone separates central security tasks from normal operation. Depending on the level of security you require, we have a variety of options within our portfolio.

TI Bluetooth® Low Energy User Guide: Trusted Firmware-M Implementation
Being able to use the same hardware for multiple protocols allows for use-case flexibility, especially for protocols used concurrently. Not only does concurrent multiprotocol use increase the potential for product interoperability, it combines the advantages of different protocols. For example, it is possible to enable Bluetooth® Low Energy on certain products for smartphone control but conduct regular operations on a mesh network such as Zigbee or Thread.
TI's solution to the use of concurrent multiprotocols is the dynamic multiprotocol manager (DMM), which time-multiplexes radio switching between protocols without resetting the device.

Consumer demand for smaller products and more functionality is correspondingly affecting the electronic devices inside of them. The CC2340 family enables high-quality radio frequency and power performance in many applications.
Benefits:
- Smaller printed circuit board footprint with reduced bill of materials and integrated balun.
- Output power up to 8dBm for increased range.
- Standby power <710nA.
