China RoHS information
China has created RoHS specific requirements for their country, the China Marking for Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products Standard SJ/T11364-2006 (China RoHS). China RoHS is the official measure for pollution control in electronic products in China. China RoHS is similar to the European version of RoHS which regulates cadmium, lead, hexavalent chromium, mercury and two brominated flame retardants, Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). Similar to European RoHS, China RoHS has the same threshold of 0.1 percent (1000ppm) for all substances listed above except for Cd which has a 0.01 percent threshold (100ppm) and contains a series of useful exemptions for certain important uses of lead.
China RoHS labeling requirements
China RoHS requires the use of the chasing arrow symbol with an “e” for fully compliant products. If it contains 1 or more of the listed substances above the maximum threshold, then a number between 1 and 99 replaces the “e”. This number represents the number of years the restricted substance(s) will not leach from the product while in use. For a TI IC product that does have a substance above the China RoHS threshold, TI uses the value of “50”.
More detailed labeling examples can be seen at the Logo product labeling page.
What China RoHS means for TI IC products
All TI finished IC products labeled as RoHS compliant without exemption or "green" are compliant to China RoHS. The only China RoHS substance that may be contained in TI finished IC products above the maximum threshold is lead (Pb). The relevant environmental information concerning Environmentally Friendly Use Period (EFUP) for these types of products is contained in the following PCN.
