8.2.1 Design 1 – High-efficiency Dual Output 5 V at 3 A, 3.3 V at 3 A, Synchronous Buck Regulator

Figure 8-1 shows the schematic diagram of a dual output 5 V at 3 A and 3.3 V at 3 A buck regulator with a switching frequency of 1 MHz. In this example, the target efficiencies is 91.5% at full load, based on a nominal input voltage of 12 V that ranges from 6.3 V to 36 V. A resistor of 15.4 kΩ, RRT, sets the free-running switching frequency at 1 MHz. An optional SYNC input must be limited to ±20% of the set frequency using the RT resistor.
