5.3.1.2 Host-Kernel Communication: LaunchPad Development Kit

The host-kernel communication for the F28P65x device requires a change to the boot define settings for SCI. The device assigns by default GPIO12/13 pins for SCI communication. The default boot values used for SCITX/SCIRX are not the same as what is used by the FTDI chip on the board, so it is up to the user to change the boot definition values to match what is seen by the USB-to-UART SCI lines. The USB-to-UART SCI lines share communication with SCI through GPIO 42/43 for the LaunchPad. Therefore, setting the emulation boot mode is necessary to use GPIO42/43 for SCI communication.
