The impressive C28x core sets the new standard in the digital control industry. It provides 400 MIPS of raw performance, single cycle 32x32 bit MACs - unparalleled today, C/C++ code efficiency, an ultra fast 20-40 ns service time to any interrupts, and a powerful 20Mbit/s data logging debug capability. 20x Performance Increase
The C28x DSP offers a 5x increase in MIPS efficiency over the competition by implementing a 32x32 MAC in a single cycle. Also, the C28x offers up to 400 MIPS of processing power which is a 4x increase over the competition. In addition, the C28x core offers 32/64-bit saturation, single cycle read-modify-write instructions, and 64/32 and 32/32 modulus division. By combining all these factors, the C28x provides at least a 20x increase in performance over the competition.

Fast Interrupt Response
By utilizing automatic context save/restore, the C28x provides the fastest response time to multiple levels of interrupt. At 400 MHz, the C28x responds to any interrupt in 20-40 ns. This provides a 10x speed increase over typical interrupt management systems of 300-400 ns.
