TI’s TImeline Technology Packs 125 Million Transistors onto a Single Chip

One hundred and twenty-five million transistors. That's roughly the number of transistors found in 30 Pentium Pro (tm) processors. Or 2,000 ARM processors™. It's about the combined total of all devices in a high-end PC with 16 megabytes of RAM. Now, it's also the number of transistors that Texas Instruments can pack onto one chip with TImeline Technology. TImeline brings levels of integration never before possible within reach. In many applications, single-chip systems -- with their advantages in performance, size, power conservation and cost – become practical at last.

Whether they are concerned most about performance, size, power consumption or system cost, equipment makers clamor for greater semiconductor integration.
