Overview

Our integrated circuits help you create integrated high voltage combination of onboard charger (OBC) and DC/DC converter designs that enable 2-in-1 integration for higher power density and lower BOM.

Design requirements

Integrated high voltage (OBC and DC/DC) systems require:

  • High performance and fast digital control loops enabling highly efficient power conversion and increased power density.
  • Simplified and efficient integration of bidirectional OBC to support V2X and DC/DC converter for pre-charge function.
  • Control integration using single microcontroller for both OBC and DC/DC.

The digital processing performs the signals processing and overall control algorithm. It governs the operations of the DC/DC converter and communicates with the vehicle usually via CAN and the cell supervision units. The digital processing may be based on a single or multiple safety microcontrollers.
