This application note shows a basic method for designing with a digital power monitor. Key specifications were discussed for determining shunt resistor range. Subsequently some insight was provided on how a shunt value can be tailored for resolution or power dissipation. After stressing the importance of the shunt, current range scaling was discussed along with programming registers.
