Overview

This reference design explains the theory, design and testing of a synchronous, four-channel wideband high-resolution interface. The main targets are the vibration sensing applications, but the design can also be applied to any application that requires wideband, such as three-phase voltage and current monitoring in power factor measurement.

  • Synchronous four-channel wideband integrated electronic piezoelectric (IEPE) sensor interface
  • 24-bit 20-kHz bandwidth conversion
  • Data rate of 124 kSPS (daisy chain), 1 MSPS (parallel SPI)
  • ±10-V AC input and 320-kΩ input impedance
  • Onboard four excitation current (about 3.5 mA)
  • Onboard non-isolated 5-V to 24-V boost
