Overview

Our various configurations of powertrain current sensors enable high accuracy, fast response and high dynamic range current measurement.

Design requirements

Powertrain current sensor designs require:

  • Addressing the need for high-accuracy current sensors with low drift and high linearity current-sensing topologies.
  • Temperature and linearity-compensated sensors providing precise current sensing over higher dynamic ranges.
  • Enabling fast shutdown in an overcurrent scenario by high bandwidth and fast response current sensing.

A high magnitude of current flows through the micro-ohm shunt, which results in a small amount of voltage drop across the shunt. Using current shunt monitors, this voltage is amplified and converted into digital for further signal processing.
