1/f noise is a low frequency noise in the 0.1Hz to 10Hz range also known as flicker noise. This noise is troublesome due to how low the frequency range is and the noise is difficult to filter out due to a large sampling time requirement. When performing DC measurements, this noise has a greater impact than broadband noise because 1/f noise cannot be practically filtered out due to how low the frequency is. The only way to reduce the 1/f noise from a reference voltage is to go choose the lowest noise reference voltage and voltage option because noise scales with output voltage.
